Meal Policy
Two nutritious hot meals and an afternoon snack are
served daily at Nanny's.
Breakfast is served between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. If
your child arrives after 8:30 AM, please make sure he/she has eaten breakfast.
Lunch is served at 11:00 AM. If your child will be
arriving at Nanny's after 10:00 AM, please call and let us know so that we can include
them in our lunch count. If you forget to call, please make sure your child has
eaten lunch before coming to the center.

It is not permissible for children to
bring their own food to Nanny's with the following exceptions:
Children on therapeutic diets, prescribed by a physician, may bring their own food.
A written request must be received and kept on file.
Birthday parties - Nanny's provides a birthday cake on the first Friday of
each month to celebrate all children with a birthday in that month.

Policy
The State of Louisiana sets strict guidelines for day
care centers to follow concerning illnesses. The following shows how long a child
must stay away from the center with an illness.

Please, for the safety of your child and
others , do not bring him/her to the center if they have been running a temperature,
vomiting, or having diarrhea during the night. Symptoms must be gone for 24 hours
before returning.
D iscipline
Policy
No child shall be subject to physical punishment,
corporal punishment, verbal abuse or threats. Cruel, severe, unusual or unnecessary
reasons, we use the "Time-out Chair" and he/she will never be out of sight of a
staff member.
No child shall be deprived of meals or any part of meals
for disciplinary reasons.
Reports of mistreatment of children, coming to the
attention of the Department of Social Services will be investigated. If you
encounter a problem at Nanny's please consult with the Director. If you feel the
problem has not been resolved, you are to call the Licensing Department at 504-922-0015.
Any suspected abuse and/or neglect of a child must be
reported in accordance with LA Revised Statute 14:403 to the local Child Protection
Agency.
Corporal punishment, which is defined as "the
infliction of pain", upon a child of any age, is prohibited at Nanny's.
A ccident
Policy
Any time a child has an accident at Nanny's, the staff
member in charge of that child will assess the situation and determine the appropriate
action. An accident report will be filled out by the staff member in charge, with
an additional staff member's signature on the report verifying the information to be
correct.
F ire
Drill Policy
The State of Louisiana requires that all Child Care
Centers hold monthly fire drills. These drills are held at unannounced times.
A reports on the fire drill is filed in the center's office.
Inclement
Weather Policy
Closure due to inclement weather
will follow the Rapides Parish
School System schedule. However, if Rapides Parish Schools are
closed, Nanny's Pre-School will re-access the weather by 9:00 a.m. the
morning of closure and will make a decision at that time when to
